  • I can't believe I've been living in Kentucky for almost a year now.

June 8 is my two-year anniversary with Lin.

July will mark a year since I began working at the candy company.

    So many milestones.

  • Long-Awaited Update

Seems like more people are writing at Livejournal and Myspace now.

Gees, what to say?  I'm still working at the candy factory.  I gave a tour to a bunch of travel writers and I may be menioned in their articles.   The idea of grad school is growing more and more dim.  I just want to pay my loans and never worry about it again.   I'm enjoying Kentucky but I miss having friends.  I do have nice neighbors.  It's best when Lin is home.  He  actually stayed for about two weeks when his truck broke down...but then to compensate, he's stayed on the road now for about a month.  I can't wait until he gets home again.

  • Making it Home

Here are some pictures of what my home in Kentucky looks like.

It's looking a lot more homey now.  Here are some more pictures of how Mom and I fixed up the place when she visited.

There's still so much to do around the house.  I've turned into a bit of a housewife--whenever Lin visits, I do his laundry and the dishes.  I won't complain though--he gives me money to live on and pays our rent.  Plus he can cook much better than I can!  I can't believe it's only been a little over a year since we met for the first time.  And right around our anniversary, we moved in together.  We joke about being big dorks for meeting each other on the internet, because our neighbors (who are married) met online too.  I certainly never thought I'd be living with a guy, but that's how things happen sometimes.  Mom had been against it at first, but when I said, "But didn't Dad live with you before you got married?" she didn't have much to say about it.  I said that everyone has different situations.  For me, Lin has given me a chance to start my life over again.  He's given me a chance to move out of Western Pennsylvania and help me financially while I find a job.  He's given me the opportunity to "live on my own" and gain independence (since he's on the road 80% of the time).  My entire family thinks this is best for me.

I've even started going to church again--I found a Presbyterian church downtown called South Frankfort.  My neighbors had been a bit reluctant about church (not to mention uncertain of a church to attend since they're Catholic and Baptist) but they've been coming with me.  I've gone three weeks in a row now.  I've already been invited to join the choir.

Oh, and I GOT A JOB!  AT A CHOCOLATE FACTORY!  I'm a Hospitality Coordinator.  9-5:30, M-F and rotating Saturdays.  Benefits and paid vacation time.  I'll be selling candy and giving tours.  I've also been told that I can get raises once I work longer, and given my html knowledge, I may get extra if I can spruce up the website.  It took me 3 months to get a job in PA, and like 1 week to get a job here.  Crazy!
